Cross Country Skiing

Few places in the world offer such superb cross-country skiing or snowshoeing as the stunning terrain surrounding the Triangle X Ranch in Grand Teton National Park. Abundant wildlife and quiet solitude greet you in this mountain winter wonderland. The terrain surrounding the ranch offers numerous breathtaking vistas and enough variety to satisfy the beginner as well as the most experienced skier.

Backcountry Snowmobiling

The Triangle X Ranch is bordered by the Bridger Teton National Forest, offering some of the finest snowmobiling in the world, right from your cabin door. The Bridger Teton National Forest is famous for its endless miles of groomed trails and thousands of acres of untracked mountain riding. No matter what your skill level you won’t be disappointed.

You can also take a day snowmobile or snowcoach trip into Yellowstone National Park. We can recommend companies for you to conact to arrange your excursion and oftens times they will pick you up right at the ranch.

Wildlife Viewing

Jackson Hole and Yellowstone Country make up one of the richest wildlife complexes to be found anywhere in North America. The Triangle X Ranch offers unique opportunities to observe such species as moose, elk, bison, deer, coyotes, mountain sheep, hawks and bald eagles. The Turners are experienced wilderness guides who insure that you will enjoy these exciting animals from a safe distance and with discretion. A winter visit to the ranch in Jackson Hole is wildlife viewing at its very best. Bring your camera and binoculars!

In The Vicinity

The Triangle X Ranch is conveniently located near lots of winter fun. Just 32 miles north is Yellowstone National Park, the world’s first national park. Yellowstone is spectacular during winter months, full of wintering wildlife, steep cascade canyons, and thermal displays that will certainly spark one’s interest. We recommend snowmobile and coach tours through Yellowstone National Park.

From the Triangle X, you can easily enjoy full days of downhill skiing at three different resorts. The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at Teton Village offers the country’s longest vertical rise and greatest diversity of slopes to accommodate any skill level. Grand Targhee Resort is a renowned family ski area known for its deep powder, and Snow King Resort is the community ski area which drops right into the streets of Jackson.

Jackson Hole is also home to the National Elk Refuge, offering horse drawn sleigh rides through thousands of elk, while learning about their ecology and history from expert naturalists.

Just south of the Triangle X and Grand Teton National Park is Jackson, one the of last “old west” towns. This colorful town offers superb shops, art galleries, excellent museums, fine restaurants, and fun night spots.

Spending a day on a dog sled tour is also a very popular choice among visitors.
