Environmental Stewardship

Join Us in Preserving Our Natural Resources

Our Mission

Triangle X Ranch is committed to work cooperatively and in partnership with Grand Teton National Park. We pledge to help fulfill its mission of preserving, conserving and protecting valuable park resources.

Triangle X is dedicated to providing our guests with a unique and enjoyable service. Our staff adheres to an Environmental Management Program, employing several practical measures to insure our operations positively affect park resources.

Environmental stewardship is an on-going process and should be a priority to all park visitors – we ask your help in achieving success.

You Can Help

Conserve Energy

Reducing use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas, means lower emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), the primary contributor to global climate change.

  • Limit heating in your cabin by dressing appropriately for the weather
  • Turn off lights when leaving

Conserve Water

Water is necessary for healthy drinking water, ecosystems and food supplies. Large amounts of energy and chemicals are needed to treat both tap water and waste water.

  • Take short showers
  • Turn the faucet off when brushing your teeth
  • Report leaky faucets, pipes, or other water-wasters

Practice No Idling

Idling consumes more fuel and produces more CO2 than restarting your car.

  • Turn the car off if you are idling more than 10 seconds – especially in construction zones

Reduce and Reuse

Vast quantities of resources are used to manufacture; package and transport products. Once you are finished with it, it may end up in our overburdened landfills.

  • Consider: What is the true environmental cost of this purchase and its disposal?
  • Say “No, thank you” to bags at store checkout
  • Use reusable water bottles and coffee mugs

Recycle

Recycling saves precious resources and reduces waste in landfills. For example: recycling an aluminum can uses 1/5 the resources of producing a new can.
Triangle X recycling bins are located in ranch cabins, around the ranch, and in scenic and fishing boats.

We collect:
  • Office Pack
  • Corrugated Cardboard
  • Aluminum Beverage Cans
  • Plastic Containers -Type 1&2
  • Magazines & Catalogs (glossy only)
  • Newspaper
  • Glass Bottles and Jars
What Triangle X Ranch is doing:
  • Recycling several different types of products
  • Purchasing enough green power to cover 50% of our daily electrical use
  • Cleaning ranch facilities with environmentally friendly cleaners
  • Replacing old office equipment with technology that is energy star certified
  • All toilets, showers and faucets use low flow fixtures
  • Streamlining the use of the Triangle X vehicle fleet to reduce fuel consumption
  • Purchasing the most environmentally friendly products for use in our operations, when it is economically environmentally feasible.
